Queso Cup XXVI – Schedule of Events

 

All pairing and tee times will be posted on this site soon, we'll let you know when that's available. A simple resort map with locations of each course clubhouse is provided below.

Thursday, December 4

         

For the early arrival crowd, we will likely have two blocks of tee times planned at the resort, we are still working through the details for Thursday but please let us know asap if you intend to play with this group on Thursday afternoon.

 

Thursday Dinner – Lions / Cowboys game festivities – either simply hang at the resort sports bar or make our way to the local watering hole, Hiccups, where we plan to gather for Saturday evening dinner and conference championship activities.

 

Friday, December 5

      

Please plan to arrive at the Ram Rock Course clubhouse at noon or before for some lunch, range balls and to get the smack talk started.

 

Round One and Ceremonial Tee Ball – As is now tradition, we will be opening the Queso Cup event with our ceremonial opening tee shots in honor of the Queso Cup brothers we've lost over the years. We'll do this just before we load up to head out for the round 1 shotgun start. Please plan to be to your assigned cart by 12:30pm. Round 1 tourney format – Handicapped four ball match play (handicapped team best ball). Worry not, your scorecard will have all of the details on handicaps.

 

Dinner Friday – Friday night's opening dinner will be at Le Sturgeon Seafood Company (https://www.lestourgeonseafoodcompany.com)  following the completion of round 1 - we'll provide a more specific time during announcements ahead of round 1. This dinner is NOT in the resort package so you'll need to cover your own costs for the evening (and if Masley or I have to pick up your tab for any reason, we'll also be arrange a bus home for you on Saturday morning...)

 

Following dinner on Friday evening, we'll head back to the resort to Whitewater 360 Sports Club and Whitewater Putting Course to continue the festivities.

 

Saturday, December 6

 

Breakfast Saturday – Breakfast at J's Restaurant at the resort. please plan to finish breakfast and self-medicate in time to get over to the Slick Rock Course clubhouse no later than 8am.

 

Round Two  – 8:15am cart load for our 8:30am shotgun start at Slick Rock.  Format – Handicapped two man scramble match play (with a modified alternate shot should any match get 2 up or more – we’ll explain Friday at dinner if this is new to you)

 

Lunch between Rounds – You'll get a box lunch upon completion of round 2 and it will be a quick turn so we don't run out of daylight so don't make any major plans (mani-pedi, waxing, etc.) between rounds.  Your cart partner in the afternoon will be the same partner from the morning so don't piss them off too early in the day if you can help it.

 

Round Three  – 12:45a load up for 1:00pm shotgun start, again at Slick Rock.  Format – Four man scramble, par as your friend.  Note – this will be the round with the insured Hole in One prizes!

 

Dinner Saturday – Approximately 6:30pm at Hiccups Sports Bar & Grill which is just down the road from the resort.  Again, this meal is NOT part of your resort package so be ready to cover your own bill on Saturday evening. After dinner, we'll head back to Whitewater 360 at the resort to watch some more NCAA conference championship football.

 

Sunday, December 7

 

Breakfast Sunday – Breakfast at J's Restaurant at the resort. please plan to finish breakfast in time to get over to the Apple Rock Course clubhouse no later than 8am.

 

Round Four  – 8:15am cart load for our 8:30am shotgun start at Slick Rock. Format – same as Saturday morning, two man scramble match play with modified alternate shot.

 

Post Round – Gather for lunch (not in the package) and final tally of the leaderboard. Award the Cup, scramble to the airport...
